Ali + Greg

Greg and Ali met one fateful evening at Tom Tom bar in Washington, D.C.  Somehow in the midst of a crowded dance floor, they caught each other's eye and became inseparable for the rest of the night.  With a few assists from well meaning friends, that evening marked the beginning of their special love story.

Five months after meeting each other, Greg moved from Washington, DC back to North Carolina to attend veterinary school.  Despite only dating for a short time, the two knew that they had something special.  The next year, Ali moved to North Carolina to join Greg, fondly adopting Durham as her second home.  Ali is currently pursuing her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary while Greg works as a veterinarian with the National Marine Mammal Foundation and at Sea World San Diego.

Both Greg and Ali grew up playing "joga bonita" (the beautiful game), which continued into their college years. Throughout their relationship, they recount several soccer inspired memories, like playing  on a coed team together while living in Durham and traveling to South Africa in 2010 to experience the World Cup together with family.  Soccer has always been an important part of their lives individually and it is now something that they share together.  Although they didn't make it out to this year's World Cup competition in Brazil, they happily cheered from home. Go USA!

The Engagement:

Ali thought they were just taking another trip to Washington DC but little did she know, Greg was planning something very special that March evening.  Greg popped the question at the Kennedy Center, which was the site of one of their very first dates.  Overlooking the Washington Monument and Ali's alma mater, Georgetown, Greg asked Ali to be his wife.  Without hesitation, she said YES and the rest is history.

Their wedding:

Greg and Ali are a very down to earth couple. Since they both share a love for education and reading, it was only fitting that they chose to have their wedding at the Cerritos Library. They made it so easy for me to be creative and pull their ideas together to create their ideal vintage and rustic library themed wedding. It was an honor to be able to plan such a beautiful day for them.

Here are some images from their gorgeous wedding day captured by Jenna Norman Photography.

Ali and Greg had an AMAZING group of friends and family. At one point, EVERYONE was on the dance floor, including the officiant and photographer. Now, that's  a sign of a great party! I truly enjoyed planning and making this wedding a dream come true for Ali and Greg. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect couple to plan such a memorable day!

Til next time,

Pip :)
